Sofia heads the firm’s Brussels office.
She began her career as a lawyer-linguist at the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), before working as a project manager at Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset manager, from 2015 to 2017.
She then joined Clearstream, a central player in the Eurobond market and in the delivery of securities and investment fund units and shares, as a project manager before being promoted to Legal PMO/Corporate Officer from 2017 to 2019 and then serving as head of government and public affairs until 2023.
She then served as Senior Regulatory Affairs Officer at the Luxembourg Stock Exchange from 2023 to 2024, and in July 2024 became Head of Institutional Affairs, Europe at SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications), a Belgian-headquartered global cooperative to which we provide strategic public affairs support.
She graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Porto (Portugal) in 2013.
