A qualified attorney, François specializes in European and French regulatory affairs and public policy. His work focuses mainly on the digital sector and in particular on platform, personal data, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence-related issues.
François has more than 20 years of corporate experience working in multinationals, including as Microsoft’s Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and as Global Vice-President for Regulatory Affairs at Criteo. He was also a co-founder of a tech start-up.
During this time, he also served as the chair of the European policy committee of the Business Software Alliance in 2015, was a member of the board of the European Tech Alliance between 2018 and 2020, and as a member of the board of directors of Digital Europe between 2021 and 2022. Concomitantly, he contributed to the creation and setting up of Numeum industry association.
François currently serves as a French Foreign Trade Advisor (Europe section). He is also a founding member of Agora des Directeurs juridiques et de la Compliance (network of legal and compliance directors). He frequently lectures at ESSEC, as well as at UPEC and HEAD.
François holds a Master 2 in International Business Law from the University of Tours, and an LLM in International Business Legal Studies from the University of Exeter (valedictorian).
